TNS Essential Serum should be applied after cleansing and toning the skin and prior to applying any other products, including sunscreens. Note: TNS Recovery Complex is in one chamber of the TNS Essential Serum pump, you do not need to incorporate TNS Recovery Complex in your daily routine.

Before the first application lightly tap the top of the pump several times in the palm of your hand. Remove the cap and press on the very center of the pump to dispense both of the products onto the back of your hand and blend them together before applying.

Yes. Lytera® 2.0 is non-comedogenic and developed to work well on all skin types. The retinol-free, hydroquinone-free formulation is ideal for skin prone to irritation or inflammatory lesions.

Is Lytera® 2.0 safe for use with pregnant or breast-feeding patients?

The safety of our products has not been established in vulnerable populations, including women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Standard cosmetic safety testing is conducted with our products in healthy adult human volunteers that are not pregnant. Lytera® 2.0 does not contain any known teratogenic ingredients, ingredients known to harm mother and/or baby. Therefore, pregnancy is not considered a contraindication for Lytera® 2.0.

Can I integrate Lytera® 2.0 into a 4% prescription strength hydroquinone regimen? Can Lytera® 2.0 also be used with chemical peels, laser treatments, or other cosmetic topical products?

Yes. Lytera® 2.0 was designed to work well as a monotherapy or to optimize other treatment approaches.

How long should patients wait before applying sunscreen?

Allow Lytera® 2.0 to absorb fully into the skin before applying sunscreen, approximately 3-5 minutes.

How long should patients use Lytera® 2.0?

In clinical studies, optimal results were achieved within 3 months and, in some cases, visible improvements were seen in as early as 2 weeks. However, since hyperpigmentation is a chronic condition that has no known cure, it must be constantly managed with an optimal treatment approach including daily application of SPF and avoidance of excess sun exposure. Use of Lytera® 2.0 is recommended as long as results are desired.

Should I use Lytera® 2.0 only as a spot treatment?

In clinical studies, the formula was shown to be effective when applied to the entire face and was not evaluated as a spot treatment.

How often should Lytera® 2.0 be applied?

For best results, 1 pump of Lytera® 2.0 applied twice daily (morning and evening) is recommended.

Q: What's the difference between a moisturizer and a hydrator? 
A: A moisturizer is a cosmetic cream or lotion made with humectants or occlusive or a combination of both that prevent skin dryness. A hydrator is a cosmetic treatment product that promotes epidermal health by supporting the skin’s natural ability to replenish HA.

Q: What is the significance of SCE in VITISENSCE™? 
A: SCE stands for stem cell extract. VITISENSCE™ technology contains a proprietary antioxidant extracted from Vitis vinifera flower stem cells. A: Yes, HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator is oil free and fragrance free, and is appropriate for all skin types to give patients instant smoothing gratification and address the loss of hyaluronic acid through replenishment of the skin's own HA. HA5 is considered non-comedogenic

Q: The product contains whey protein. Is it safe to use for a person with a milk allergy? 
A: Milk allergy refers to a common food allergy that results in an abnormal response from the body's immune system after consuming milk. Symptoms can vary from person to person but can range from wheezing, vomiting, hives and digestive problems. Avoidance in food is the primary treatment.

It is best to determine if a patient has a true "milk allergy" versus a digestive intolerance to lactose when considering using topical cosmetic products that contain milk.

The whey protein used in HA5 is derived from milk powder. Therefore a person with a history of milk or whey protein that triggers an immune response should not use this product because they may experience an allergic reaction.

Q: Does HA5 work on acne-prone skin? 
A: HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator is non-comedogenic.

Q: What is the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin? 
A: Dry skin is a skin type, while dehydration is a skin condition. In both, the skin undergoes transepidermal water loss, or evaporation of water from inside the body. With this water loss, the enzymes that normally help the skin shed cells can't function properly, resulting in a buildup of cells that makes the skin look rough and dry, contributing to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dry skin can be genetic or a symptom of systemic disease. It is caused either by the inadequate production of oil, called sebum, or by an imbalance of fatty acids, ceramide, and cholesterol in the stratum corneum, the barrier layer of the skin. Age is also a factor in dry skin. As we get older, we experience a decline in a main hormone that triggers sebum production.

Dehydrated skin still produces sebum but is temporarily dry because of various factors, including environmental effects such as a dry climate or use of harsh detergents or products on the skin. It is caused by a temporary imbalance of fatty acids and ceramides in the skin's barrier layer, resulting in a temporary spike in transepidermal water loss.
